In September 2005 and 2006, HLM was awarded the Environmental Ecellence Business of the Year Award at the annual Lower Hunter BEC Small Business Awards. HLM followed this up with a win in the expanded Hunter Region BEC Small businesses. Everyone involved with the business was very proud to have received this award as it is a much appreciated reflection of the efforts that have been put in to ensure that the busines has a positive effect on the environment, not only in the finished product of the work undertaken, but also in the manner in which the day-to-day operations of the business are carried out.Hunter Land Management has received a highly commended award in the Newcastle City Council Environmental Achievement Awards.

This award was presented for our work with the Hunter Central Rivers Catchment Management Authority (HCRCMA), as well as corporate and private landholders.

This was the first private contract issued by the HCRCMA and involved the identification of priority sites along the Hunter River where rivercare planning and on-ground implementation were required.

HLM conducted exhaustive community consultation during the planning process and acted as project management for the implementation stage of the contract.
